Work With Samantha
Practical mental and emotional wellness education for the moments that feel hardest to navigate.
Big emotions are part of being human. But most of us were never actually taught how to understand them, work with them, or respond well when they begin taking over.
I help students, educators, helping professionals, teams, and organizations build practical emotional wellness skills they can use in real life—not just while they are sitting in a presentation.
Through engaging talks, interactive workshops, and customized learning series, I make complex psychological concepts approachable, memorable, and immediately useful.

Your audience does not need another presentation full of advice they already know
They need language for what is happening inside them.
- They need practical tools for moments when emotions are high, thoughts are spiraling, or they are carrying more than they know how to manage.
- And they need those tools delivered in a way that feels human—not clinical, overwhelming, or disconnected from their actual lives.
As a licensed mental health counselor, educator, and speaker, I translate evidence-informed emotional wellness concepts into clear, compassionate strategies people can understand and begin practicing right away.
My presentations balance meaningful insight with practical application, relatable stories, and appropriate humor. The goal is not simply for your audience to leave feeling inspired. It is for them to leave better equipped for the next difficult moment they face.
Speaking Topics
Each topic can be adapted for the age, setting, needs, and goals of your audience. Talks may also be expanded into interactive workshops or multi-session learning series.
Your Emotions Are Trying to Tell You Something
Emotions are not problems to eliminate, signs of weakness, or instructions we have to obey. They are signals—and when we understand their purpose, they can give us important information about our needs, values, boundaries, and experiences.
Participants learn how to:
- Understand what emotions are designed to do
- Identify what an emotion may be communicating
- Respond to emotions without suppressing them or letting them take control
- Choose a helpful next step, even when feelings are intense
How Emotional Spirals Start—and How to Stop Them
Emotional spirals rarely appear out of nowhere. A stressful event can quickly trigger physical activation, automatic thoughts, powerful urges, and reactions that make the situation even harder.
Participants learn how to:
- Recognize the early stages of an emotional spiral
- Understand how thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviors reinforce one another
- Find the next available “exit” before the spiral gains momentum
- Use practical strategies to become grounded and respond more intentionally

Acceptance or Action? Knowing What the Moment Requires
Some situations call for courageous action. Others cannot be immediately changed and require us to stop fighting reality long enough to decide how we want to move through it. The challenge is learning to tell the difference.
Participants learn how to:
- Separate what is within their control from what is not
- Recognize when resistance is creating additional distress
- Practice acceptance without confusing it with approval or giving up
- Identify a reasonable, constructive next action when change is possible
Self-Care for People Who Spend Their Lives Serving Others
For educators, caregivers, helping professionals, leaders, and service-minded teams, caring deeply is often both a strength and a source of exhaustion. Sustainable service requires more than waiting until burnout to recover.
Participants learn how to:
- Recognize their personal warning signs of emotional depletion
- Identify needs before those needs become emergencies
- Set limits without abandoning their values or responsibilities
- Build realistic practices that support long-term, meaningful service
Bullying, Belonging, and the Courage to Be Different
Designed for student audiences, this engaging and age-appropriate talk explores why people target differences, what bullying costs everyone involved, and how students can help create a culture where others feel safe to be seen.
Students are invited to consider:
- Why differences so often become targets
- What may be happening beneath bullying behavior
- The impact of words, exclusion, and “just joking”
- What it looks like to interrupt cruelty and practice courage
- How the qualities that make someone different can become their greatest strengths
From Negative Thought Spirals to More Flexible Thinking
When the mind becomes stuck in worst-case scenarios, self-criticism, or repetitive “what if” questions, simply telling yourself to stop thinking about it rarely works.
Participants learn how to:
- Notice recurring thought patterns without automatically believing them
- Separate facts from assumptions and predictions
- Ask questions that create flexibility rather than forced positivity
- Redirect attention toward what is useful, actionable, and grounded in the present
